Shifting focus, September will bring attention to: CREATING
cre·ate /krēˈāt/
verb
1. to bring (something) into existence
Creating isn't just about making art, but it is about tapping into your innate creativity and letting it shine. We are all creative, YES....it's true. All humans have the innate ability to be creative. Everything you do is a creative choice----the way you choose to dress for the day, the way you decorate your home, or what you whipped up for dinner last night.
Mindfully bringing awareness to your capacity for creativity can be a practice in grounding, allowing you to feel more connected to your everyday experience and the world around you.
A few ways you can connect to and start living a more creative life:
TRY A NEW RECIPE
Have you been dying to try a new recipe? Maybe you can try flipping through a cookbook you've had for years, or try scrolling through Pinterest Now is your chance...stop at the grocery store, pick up the ingredients and get cooking!
TRY OUT A NEW HOBBY
Anything you have been interested in trying, but haven't gotten around to it yet? Now is the time! Sign up for that yoga class, pick up those knitting needles and find a youtube channel that can teach you the basics. If one hobby doesn't work, try another...you'll find something that sticks!
GRAB A JOURNAL/SKETCHBOOK/NOTEBOOK, AND DRAW WHAT YOU SEE
Take a trip out into nature, armed with a few fresh sheets of paper and pencils (or whatever material you choose), and draw what you see. Maybe you go to the center of a busy town square, and draw the people as they pass by. Just get out there and doodle!
VISIT A MUSEUM
Visiting a museum is an excellent way to get your creative juices flowing. Perhaps you take your sketchbook with you, and do a little doodling, inspired by the artwork you see. Go with a friend, and engage in a conversation about the museum you are viewing!
LISTEN TO YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC
Turn on your favorite music and sing along, dance and move, play the air guitar....whatever you feel! Music is a great way to express yourself and tap into your creativity!

You can follow along as I share about my creating experience on Instagram, using the #12monthsofgrounding. I look forward to seeing what creative ways you access CREATING in your life this month!
Take Care,
